12 favourite photography moments of 2017 | Northamptonshire Family Photographer

2017 has been an emotional year for me, both personally and as an emerging family and children’s photographer. There have been lots of fun photo shoots, I’ve learnt some life-changing lessons and have made some awesome friends along the way. So I thought a blog post of 12 of my most memorable moments illustrating each month would be a cool way to round up the year.
January saw the cosy winter wedding of Stephanie and Wayne which I photographed mostly in a documentary style. While mum and dad share a tender moment, little George gets in on the action making the perfect shot.
Taken during a father and son photo shoot with my husband and our little in February. This involved whipping their tops off and cuddles under a fur blanket for some skin to skin male bonding. Beard tickles are the best!
Spring is always so welcome come March so as soon as the pink blossom bloomed on the trees we arranged this maternity photo shoot. Mum-to-be Jodi’s honest and humorous personality was infectious and I loved the vulnerability that shone through in the photos from this session.
The hunt for the fairies was on during April’s Bluebell Woods Photo Shoots in Daventry. Spring is such a magical time for photographers and children alike.
Who doesn’t like a beautiful sunset?! May had some beautiful light in the evenings when the light wraps gently around you making for some gorgeous photographs. This sweet moment between my children was shot during a photo shoot with my family at Hall Park in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

In June myself and my good friend Julietta of Little Birds Photography arranged a boho inspired styled wedding photo shoot. This was shot in the stunning grounds of Hothorpe Hall and the Woodlands along with a lot of help from talented MUA and stylist Miss Eva of Beauty Angels and Florist Tracey of Once Upon a Time with a stunning dress by Laurel & Lace. Our couple Cerrie and Damian were so amazing and they got lots of kissing and cuddling practice in for their real wedding photos just weeks later.

In July I took some Beach photo shoots while holidaying with my family near the idyllic Gwithian Beach. I feel so lucky to have met the Parma family who were a dream to photograph at sunset in paradise. If anyone wants a session in Cornwall I’d love an excuse to go back!
In August I ran some creative photography sessions. This intimate photo shoot was inspired by the theme Mother Earth and featured my best friend looking sultry in a river near Kettering, Northamptonshire whilst actually freezing her lady bumps off. What a star!
I got my baby fix in September whilst photographing precious newborn Sophia and her doting family. This session involved lots of relaxed snuggles, fresh baby details…and a poop incident & quick wardrobe change. There’s nothing like tiny wrinkled fingers and toes to help you get over it though!
October is all about Autumn photo shoots. All the beautiful tones in the leaves and the low sun is perfect for a fun outdoor lifestyle family session. Although the start was a bit rocky with one little not feeling it at all, half an hour later here they were with mum. Such lovely family memories were captured that day.
Snuggles galore for this in home newborn photo shoot in November to celebrate the birth of baby Leo. Big brother Logan was a toughie but even he couldn’t resist a play with his brother’s sleep sheep while mum snuck in some cuddles. Such a lovely little family unit!
The snow in December whipped the children (and parents!) of the country into a frenzy. Time to wrap up warm and make a snowman before Christmas – Maybe a kiss will make him come to life? The perfect way the end the year.
If you would like to be part of Glimpses Photography’s 2018 book your session before the end of February to secure 2017 prices. Contact me for bookings and enquiries.

Happy New Year and best wishes for 2018,
